Welcome to Blakey...

The Lion Inn on remote Blakey Ridge is a 16th Century freehouse owned and run by the Crossland family since 1980. Located at the highest point of the North York Moors National Park, it stands at an elevation of 1,325 feet offering breathtaking views over the valleys of Rosedale and Farndale.

Open fires burn in the ancient fireplaces and the original low beamed ceilings add to the friendly, cosy atmosphere of the Inn.

The bar is well known for its good selection of quality real ales which include Black Sheep Best Bitter, Theakston's Best Bitter, our award winning Old Peculier, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Thwaites Wainwright Bitter and a range of regularly changing guest ales.

An extensive menu is offered including vegetarian & vegan dishes, children's meals, Sunday roasts and daily Chef's specials - served from 12pm until 9pm each day.

Meals are served in the various old rooms in The Lion Inn’s bar (where seating is unreserved) and there are three restaurants where pre-booking is recommended.

The Inn is fully residential with 13 bedrooms. Each room has its own individual character and is equipped with TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Dogs are allowed in some letting rooms on request and secure storage is available for cycles.
